The Robert Mann Gallery in Chelsea offers a very special opportunity in it's exhibition Elisabeth Hase "An Independent Vision."  This represents the first time ever her photographs have been seen in the United States. Leading up to WWII  Hase supported herself shooting architectural photographs, portraits and landscapes. But living in the fear of Hitler and his disdain for "modern" art - or as he called it "decadent" art, her private images were never exhibited during her lifetime. This show will display 34 of her vintage photographs. The gallery acquired the the photographs  from Nani Simonis, the daughter of Elisabeth Hase, it taking 20 years for the daughter to organize the work.
