The touchstone of the Taiwanese New Wave, master director Edward Yang's ("Yi Yi," "A Brighter Summer Day) long unavailable second feature, "Taipei Story - 1985) is a ghostly profound portrait of urban alienation. Amid the high-rise wonderland of boom-time 1980's Taipei, a multitude of characters struggle to keep pace with the country's rapid modernization, including  a corporate-ladder office worker and her boyfriend a former baseball player.
