Aynur is one of the most prominent musicians from Turkey and a proud representative for the Kurdish people. Her music is based on traditional Kurdish fold songs, many of them going back 300 years, which she blends with Western music in a modern and fresh way. Her lyrics often describe the life and sufferings of Kurdish people, in particular women. She has collaborated with artists such as Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, Javier Limon, Kinan Azmeh and Kayhan Kalhor. This performance will be her NY Debut. Show starts 7 PM.
