In 1998 the U.s. Senate declared April 6 to be National Tartan Day to recognize the contributions made by Scottish Americans to the United States. The 18th Annual New York Tartan Day Parade starts at 2 PM at West 45th Street and moves up Sixth Avenue to 55th Street. Lots of colorful tartan and pipe bands is guaranteed! The Grand Marshall for the parade is the actor, Sam Heughan.
