Founded in 1989, Ma-Yi Theater is a Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning organization whose primary mission is to develop and produce new and innovative plays by Asian American writers. The current show, "House Rules," written by A. Rey Pematmat is a deeply moving new play about two Filipino families dealing with the impending death of parents. It is a volatile and hilarious mix of humans, with plenty of monopoly, mahjong, and gin rummy to keep them all busy. Directed by Ralph B. Pena.
